Home Services

Our services are divided into two major categories:

  • Molecular analysis of genetic changes (mutations) associated with an increased risk of developing a disease (eg hereditary cancers, cardiovascular diseases).
  • Molecular diagnostic data analysis to detect factors for choosing the right therapeutic approach to cancer or for monitoring responsiveness to specific therapies.

The methodology applied in the Center of Molecular Analysis and Research SA includes the following techniques:

  • Cellular level : Production of primary cell cultures from biopsies of patients. Study of apoptosis, proliferation, migration and chemosensitivity of cells by immunofluorescence and chemiluminescence.
  • Chromosome level: Molecular cytogenetics, FISH
  • Molecular level : Molecular profiles of patients’ tumors or biopsies (gene expression) identifying molecules-targets for targeted therapy. Rapid identification of critical mutations by the most modern method of HRM (High Resolution Melting). Detection of free circulating tumor cells in blood by gene expression analysis. Quantification of gene expression by real-time PCR. Also PCR, RT-PCR, molecular cloning, nucleotide sequencing (DNA sequencing), Southern (DNA blots), Northern (RNA blots), Western (protein blots).

  • Hereditary Dieseases Detection   ( 5 Articles )

    Molecular analysis of gene mutations that are connected with an increased risk of developing certaindiseases (i.e. hereditary cancers, heart diseases). Such tests include the BRCA1 and BRCA2 genes for families with breast and ovary cancer history, the APC gene for Familial Adenomatous Polyposis and families with colorectal cancer history and the genes RET and MEN1 with families with multiple endocrine neoplasia syndromes

  • Prognosis - Diagnosis   ( 15 Articles )

    Molecular analysis tests of prognostic and diagnostic value for all oncological diseases are offered in order to provide accurate prognosis of the disease, to identify optimal therapeutic approaches or to predict response of patients to chemotherapies. Such tests include the gene expression analysis of :

    • Cell surface receptor tyrosine kinases
    • Hormonal receptors
    • Growth factors
    • Transcription factors
    • Tumor-suppressor genes
    • Antiapoptotic genes
    • Mitotic genes
    • Genes related with chemotherapy drugs response of tumor cells

    An important function of the Center for Molecular Analysis and Research S.A. is its scientific research activities with special emphasis on translational research. Translational research is an attempt to apply in the clinic all the findings that have been obtained in the laboratories
